Summary/Abstract: Mirjana Ferić-Vac believes that it is no longer time for some programmatically isolated women’s politics in the Social-Democratic Party, but that it must be built in, it must be a part of all sections of programmatic endeavours. She advocates the sense of gender mainstreaming, looking at the control mechanisms of the European Commission, the European Union, which will, in reviewing, for example, the legislature, take into account and also install certain mechanisms that will oversee, control the enforcement of gender equality, among other things. She believes that the quota system should be retained, but, as before, not compulsory, so she considers that the party’s pre-election convention should also open up, and respond to, this question. Of the difference in the methodology of work between parties and the nongovernmental sector, she propounds the autonomy of the nongovernmental sector and a broader space for engagement. It rarely happens in parties that disagreement turns into disruption, which may, and does, easily happen with nongovernmental organisations, who in their turn found new organisations. This is an advantage, but also a shortcoming, because synergy, as well as focus, is easily lost.
