Summary/Abstract: The Croatian parliamentary elections, just as any in the world, are a time and a reason to summarise and critically analyse that, which we have been through in the previous period. Based on this, they also are an incentive to pose various questions. But it seems as if things are starting to go in circles, and so even the analyses of the status and human rights of women, analyses produced every year, have come to look alike, that is, the problems remain more or less the same, or are only partially modified. Occasionally, an improvement occurs, but essentially little or nothing changes. It is a sort of Croatian paradox, that in the recent years many government bodies and institutions have been founded, yet there are no shifts to be seen. Even worse, it turns out that in some cases, such as with the Office for gender equality of the Croatian Government, what is at work is not only the inefficiency of this body, but also serious breaches of the laws of the Republic of Croatia, arbitrariness, untransparency, corruptive practices of this office. Even more concerning is the indifference of the Croatian Government towards this problem. Both the government and the nongovernmental institutions of the civil society might learn a lot from this all. It is not enough to have an Office, a Law, a Body, a Committee... The law must be implemented and enforced, a body must function, a committee must deliberate responsibly and with transparency, an office must perform the tasks determined by the law. Helping women in trouble, primary aid, is just one half of politics. The other part of feminist politics primarily has to do with a vision of politics for women, and then with a strategy to implement it, that is, to make those who have the power and who hold our mandates, the mandates that we gave them precisely at the elections, do it along with us.
