Perspectives of accession another countries accession to the euro zone – an overview

Summary/Abstract: The author attempts to identify the basic determinants of possible further enlargement of the euro zone. He examines the fulfilment of the convergence criteria by the EU countries that are not using the common currency yet and the possibility of meeting them in the near future. He also deliberates over other conditions, including social and political issues, and concludes that the admission of another countries to the monetary union may be significantly delayed.
