Summary/Abstract: This essay is about communication in theology and theological discourse from the perspective of the particularities implied, as well as of the risks it has to confront in contemporary society. The author believes the theological discourse must fi rst be understood to enable the truth it contains to be accepted. Truth is formulated based on relevant information that cannot change and results in apparent limitations or calls for the accusation of traditionalism. In a relative, speculative and intellectualist world, the theological discourse ought to bring the absolute certitude as it is the humble confession of someone who does not create, does not invent, but does relate God’s presence in the world to the people. In order that the theological discourse should have an impact, one must be aware of the public it addresses within their education, their expectations and their receptivity.
