Summary/Abstract: In 1898, V. A. Urechia was writing to the first Bishop of the new Lower Danube Arhiepiscopate, Partenie asking for his support in removing a stone he found in the middle of the Saint Haralambie Church in Galați and replace it (on his expense) with a new marble one. The reason of this request is presented to the Bishop as being the fact that the tomb stone had an epitaph in Latin, the inscription being “interesting for our history”. This mentioned Italian physician Joannes Masellini.
