Summary/Abstract: The three Motive Catalogues with text examples present some of the leading narratives, as well as many ritual and mythological structures in the song collection Veda Slovena (1874, Vol. 1, and 1881, Vol. 2). The leading repetitive story of the „Resettlement from Krajna zeme to the Danube“ (songs from Vol. 1 and Vol. 2) is illustrated by examples from the first catalogue: Significant space-time constructions, like the Danube, Krajna zeme, Kotlica, Sitska zeme etc., are categorized considering their specific ritual and mythological functions. The songs named after the mythological figure of Orpheus (Vol. 1 and Vol. 2) are systematized in the second catalogue where a narrative chain of initiation rituals is reconstructed. Christmas songs collected in the second volume of Veda Slovena are part of the third catalogue, which explores some specific ritual and mythological text details like the figure of God Koleda being connected to the folk story of the Nativity.
