Summary/Abstract: The study emphasizes some typical epic mechanisms and narrative constructions of space, which organize one of the main motifs in the song collection Veda Slovena – the „migration” motif. The relationship between ethnic/ethnogeographic and mythological perception of space – the epic space, the encoded experience of crisis, the embedding of common toponyms-symbols (бел Дунав/white Danube, църно море/black sea) and the construction of complex topoi like Krajna zeme as a mythologem of the Genesis indicate thereby very important infl uences between the folklore text and the ethnological context. On the other hand the interpretation points out some specifi c manner in narrating the history and suggests a connection between the texts of Veda Slovena and the semihistorical apocryphal literature.
