Summary/Abstract: “THE ETERNAL SUMMER” MOTIVE IN THE SONG COLLECTION VEDA SLOVENA. ROMANS AND YURUKS AS A PART OF THE FOLK MEMORY OF THE GIMISHEVI FAMILY FROM THE VILLAGE OF ZDRAVEC, MUNICIPALITY OF LAKI / The „Eternal Summer” motive as a part of the leading repetitive story of the “Resettlement from Krajna zeme to the Danube” (Veda Slovena 1874, Vol. 1 and 1881, Vol. 2) is characterized by the ritual and mythological space-time construction of the Past, of the ancestors and the afterlife. Interestingly, a story about Romans and Yuruks recorded during the ethnological field studies in the village of Zdravec, in the middle part of the Rhodope mountain (2008), recovers the “Eternal summer” motive suggesting a connection between the story and the collective folk imagination of the Past, which is widely presented in this mountain region.
