Summary/Abstract: „Primul compendiu de pedagogie şi metodică în limba română, 1776-85” (The first didactical abridgment in Romanian,1776-85), edited by P. Radu and D. Onciulescu and published by Casa Corpului Didactic in Timişoara, in 1979, is, in reality, the gathering of different Romanian versions of a didactical abstract made by Teodor Iancovici de Mirievo, having as model Johann Ignaz von Felbiger, the reformer of the Austrian educational system in Maria Theresa’s reign. In 1776, Teodor Iancovici de Mirievo’s book was issued in bilingual form, both ecclesiastical Serbian and German, being translated in Romanian in various editions, under different titles: „Teachers’ Hand Book”, „A Needed Little Book”, „A Necessary Book for Teachers”, „The Book of Method” and „The Normal”. This was due to an immense effort of teachers in Banat, Transylvania and Bucovina: Teodor Iancovici de Mirievo himself, the principal of the Romanian and Serbian schools in Banat, historian Nicolae Stoica of Haţeg, Ioan Feldvari, the Transylvanian literate Dimitrie Eustatievici, Mihai Rosu a teacher in Banat, Ioan Budai-Deleanu a writer of Scoala Ardeleana/ in the 1984 Transylvanian Cultural Movement, Vasile Bals a scholar in Bucovina et alii.
