Summary/Abstract: When the Second World War finished, Romania entered from the political point of view under the influence of the Soviet Union, which meant the restoration of the communist regime, which produced great upheavals in the Rumanian society and the Romanian institutions and spirituality visibly suffered and decayed. Many of the Romanian intellectuals, who worked in diplomatic missions of Romania abroad, decided not to return home, and others, who were still in the country, decided to live in the exile, because they foresaw the future of the country with distrust. Some of the Romanian intellectuals chose to live in South and Latin America, very far from their native country. They decided to found magazines, newspapers and reviews of Romanian culture, with great material efforts. This way, they could publish their own works in Romanian, their mother tongue. We will briefly present the magazines that were published in Latin America during the period 1945-1989: “Cuget românesc”, “Pământul strămoşesc”, and “Drum”.
