Summary/Abstract: The present paper attempts to make a brief presentation of the work conducted by Romanian intellectuals in Latin America during the second half of the 20th century. After the establishment of communism in Romania, at the end of the Second World War, those who objected to the forced imposition of the new totalitarian ideology saw themselves obliged to go into exile. Among the countries they moved to were also those of Latin America. They had to adapt to another language, to another reality and integrate into the Latin American society. Some of them became professors in some of the most prestigious Latin American universities. A complementary activity of these intellectuals was to disseminate the Romanian culture, not only within their own community through the publication of a series of magazines in Romanian, but also within the Latin-American society.
