The Literature of Borderland Toward the Challenges of Contemporary Literature Studies

Summary/Abstract: The authoress concentrates on the concept of “literature of borderland.” She presents the review of definitions, analyzes their semantic content, approaches to the literature of borderland in temporal perspective (the attractiveness of a borderland in the human-istic discourse after 1989). She also mentions selected methodological proposals of literary studies which are oriented for investigating the literature of borderland. Ac-cording to the authoress, the most important feature of the literature of borderland is a conceptualization of the issue of borderland as a neighborhood or a cultural exchange. The literature of borderland implicates the fact of linguistic ambivalence and the presence of others in literature.
