Summary/Abstract: This presentation offers some archeographic data on 11 newly-discovered copies of the Prologue Lives (Synaxarion notices) of St. Cyril and St. Methodios in Russian manuscripts from the Synod collection of the Russian State History Archives in St. Petersburg (collection 834, opus 2, opus 3, opus 4). The manuscripts are of the type Prologue and Verse Prolog and date from the fifteenth to the seventeenth centuries. All codices were produced in Great Novgorod and the surrounding monasteries, as documented in the glosses and revealed by their language. The information on the manuscripts and the publication of the texts about St. Cyril and St. Methodios according to the earliest copies in this collection add to the picture of dissemination of these hagiographic accounts in the Russian literature of the Middle Ages.
