Learning process in cooperation with logistics service provider

Summary/Abstract: The importance of logistics to achieve a competitive advantage on the market, results with the increase of interest in cooperation with logistics service providers. In efforts to reduce the fixed costs of customer’s activity, the between customer and service provider relationship can be described as “seller-buyer”. In pursuit of joint investment and mutual improvement of activities, of customer and service provider, the achievement of these effects is the partnership nature of the relationship between parties and the integration of activities of these units. The achievement of benefits, mentioned in the second situation requires proper preparation of conditions for mutual learning of collaborating units. In general, these conditions apply to solutions in the organizational structure, attitudes of employees and the use of modern IT tools. The agreement between client and service provider plays an important role in shaping the conditions for mutual learning. The purpose of this chapter is to characterize opportunities for collaborative learning in the area of cooperation with logistics service provider.
