Summary/Abstract: The article presents the situation of the Polish organic farming after entry of Poland EC. The main point of analysis are changes in quantity of organic farms, their structure and of area of organic agriculture in the period 2004-2007. The organic farms which keep the principles of the environmental protection have been existing in Poland for many years but they have been on the marginal level for long time. In spite of the introduced since 1999 grants for the organic farming and since 2001 legal regulations, the part played by the organic production in the whole agriculture production of our country has been small. However, recently the dynamic increase of amount of organic farms and their area has taken place, especially in south-east and middle part of Poland. It was connected with the Poland’s entry EC. The growth of financial support for organic farming and the introduction of stable legal conditions have caused the development of this form of agriculture activity. In spite of high growth dynamic of the amount of organic farms and their areas this type of activity hasn’t developed enough in relation to good natural conditions. The organic farms in Poland make only 0,5 percent of all farms which have been including with the area payment support system while this ratio in old EC countries amounts 9,0 percent. From here comes the need to ecologize the Polish society. The further development of organic farming in Poland shows the necessity to ecologize both producers and consumers.
