Summary/Abstract: This is a story about heroes of our time. We cannot say these are ‘examples of chivalry and bravery’, in particular because the issue is about people who are not law-abiding. However, it is certainly a story about heroes. Every age brings its own burdens, and the time of transition, in the case of Montenegro, followed also by the experience of wars in surrounding countries, sanctions, hyperinflation and decades of conflict – between modern and old, Serbian and Montenegrin, open and provincial, urban and rural, egalitarian and individualist – at the same time bears the burden of conflicts of spirit, ideas and ideologies in the conscience of the people to which it has not been – and still is not – easy to find proper and stable responses.
