Summary/Abstract: Childhood experience of living in the conditions of World War II, the process of socialization of the young generation, personal and generational effects of war-inflicted trauma are a vital research area for historians. The aim of the article is to highlight the problems related to children’s situation and welfare which have been the research focus of educational historiography. Furthermore, an important objective assumed by the author is defining the problems which so far have escaped the attention of researchers.
