Summary/Abstract: The depressive state affects the extent to which one may seek and perceive received social support The aims of present study are to examine the influence of depression on social resources. The results obtained indicate that mildly depressed subjects receive social support more difficultly than non-depressed subjects. The levels of support's satisfaction are decreased. Moderately and severely depressed individuals report receiving the least social support from husband/spouse, relatives and friends. The support's satisfaction, the extent of communication and intimacy, the levels of emotional and instrumental support are diminished.
