Qualitative Methods in the German Sociological Research

Summary/Abstract: The article is a general review of the in-terdisciplinary variety of social research in Germany, employing qualitative methods. The review presents (1) the principles of the qualitative paradigm, (2) some peculiarities of its historical development within the specific research context in Germany and the present prospects at the qualitative methods in sociology. The last (3rd) part of the ar-ticle sketches the translated texts of German researchers in the field of qualitative methods, presented in this issue and outlines the research traditions they belong to.
