Summary/Abstract: In this article are presented fundamental psychology concepts of the interaction between the constructs self-esteem and conformity. It is presented an examination, which main purpose is to examine the nature of the interrelation between self-esteem and two different types of conformity — conformity to peers and general conformity / conformity to authoritative figures and rules/. Within the framework of the present study is not confirmed the hypothesis that conformity to peers is negatively related to self-esteem of personality. The questionnaires for conformity to peer and general conformity do not relate statistically significant to self-esteem scale of M. Rosenberg and the received correlation coefficients proved the weak and positive interrelation between the observed variables. According to expectation, conformity to peers and general conformity are negatively and statistically significant interrelated, which supports the concept of two opposed types of influence, caused by coevals and other authoritative figures in the life of adolescents.
