FORMATION OF THE GENERAL LANGUAGE SEMANTIC FIELD “TIME OF THE DAY” IN BULGARIAN AND RUSSIAN

Summary/Abstract: The comparison of closely related language systems gives great possibilities of perfecting the methods of contrastive analysis, offers solutions to important general theoretical problems in linguistics, and outlines differences against similarities. The contrastive study of languages, and particularly of their lexis, is related to the current tasks of modern linguistics. A special section in this field is occupied by the contrastive description of closely related languages. The specificity of the Russian and Bulgarian lexical comparisons is determined by the fact that a major part of the lexis of these languages comprises of etymologically identical words which have preserved their formal similarity.
