Summary/Abstract: Types of conflicts and strategies for their resolution: cross-cultural analysis of Bulgaria and Ukraine. The present social-psychological research is focused on the cross-cultural differences between the conflict types and conflict resolution strategies in two different by their nature societies — the Bulgarian and the Ukrainian. In spite of the fact that in the last decades both countries have been in an identical situation of social changes, after the fundamental changes which took place different in nature social processes are observed in the context of democratization. The road to globalization and European integration as well as the impact of dynamic social-economical and political changes in these countries contributed to formation of new cultural models. Although all cultures are similar in the dilemmas they confront and in the solutions they find, the cultural differences predetermine the occurrence of different conflicts on interpersonal and intergroup level. National cultural differences predetermine the different choice of preferred conflict resolution strategies in the everyday life and in organization environments. The present cross-cultural analysis marks some tendencies and patterns that could be studied more deeply in future researches. The extracted conclusions can be applied in the social practice in the creation of techniques for constructive conflict resolution.
