Arable land and the development of non-agicultural economic activity in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents research outcomes of the studies on relationships between the change of arable land area and entrepreneurship development in Poland over the period 2003- -2010. The aim of this research is to prove that arable land resources are still a significant production factor, not only in agriculture, but also in non-agricultural sectors of Polish economy. The reason of this research was the observation that successive increase of the number of private enterprises was strictly related to the permanent decrease of arable land area. Therefore the author made an effort to confirm statistical significance of the above relationships. For this purpose the methods of descriptive, comparative and simple regression analysis were used. The data of Central Statistical Office were the empirical material.
