Summary/Abstract: The publication of the remuneration of banks managers is a widely discussed subject in Europe. In the United States there has been a single system of publishing the data on the remuneration of key managers of public companies for many years. Transparency of remuneration allows to make broad assessments of the level and structure of remuneration, as well as their validity in a calendar year. The author of the article noticed that considering the crisis in terms of the dimension of decline in the total remuneration of executive directors, it took place only in 2009. In 2004-2008 and 2010-2011 key people in the largest U.S. banks were very well rewarded. Trying to link the validity of the remuneration with the financial result and the average level of profitability of assets it has been shown that only a few banks has a relatively high correlation between the two variables.
