Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to measure the relationship between the efficiency coefficients of public universities subordinate to the supervision of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and investigated hallmarks of selected universities. The time range of research covered the years 2001-2010. The research in 2001-2002 included 57 universities in 59 university years 2003-2008 and 2009-2010, 58 universities. The universities which investigated the effectiveness ratios were calculated using the method of DEA and SFA method. The highest multiple correlation coefficient was observed for the measured efficiency ratios SFA model 2 TOTAL STUDENTS (SO_SFA_M2). The highest rank correlation coefficient was observed for the measured efficiency depending on the model 2 SFA RESEARCH − TEACHING (“BAD_DYD_SFA_M2”) and the number of students. The highest correlation coefficients were characterized by curvilinear relationship between the number of students and the measured efficiency ratios SFA model 2 TOTAL STUDENTS (“SO_SFA_M2”). The analysis of the parabolic and hyperbolic regression models show that big universities are most likely to achieve the highest rates of efficiency.
