Summary/Abstract: Social sciences group is an important aspect of studies at the University of Sarajevo, keeping in mind the fact that the majority of students enroll the social scienes faculties. In that sense, such faculties are also obliged to outline and develop quality management systems, as well as to implement them. The social sciences group has set a goal of ensuring the internal quality through a strategic approach and development of clearly defined and measurable formal mechanisms of approval, revision and supervision of the study programs. In the process of reexamining the vision, mission and strategies of individual institutions of higher education, curricula adjustments based on that new and redefined vision have been observed. As with the other members of the University, a serious issue of examining the realistic possiblilities unveils, keeping in mind limited funds. That results in lack of organization in the development of higher education, due to the lack of a state strategy. There, apart from the aforementioned limitations, curricula have been significantly innovated. Also, relevant documentation related to analysis of all the measurable data in the field has been made available. Directly related to that is the development of adequate higher education policies related to human resources, especially students and teaching staff. What one can observe in that the teaching spaces and realization of the planned activies has been achieved, in spite of the reduced budget. That has been achieved primarily through individual funding. Adoption of the procedures, more importantly, improvement of the internal quality assurance opens a possibility of external quality assurance and management. Some specific problems of every individual faculty, as well as pf the entire group, open numerous dilemas related to cooperation and relation to the eonomy and wider soial community, when it comes to the planning of needs for studying, as well as employment of the graduated students.
