Summary/Abstract: Considering that the quality of higher education impacts significantly on quality of work and life in general, the Faculty of Islamic Studies is making certain efforts with the aim of finding better ways for reaching those goals which, as the most prestigious institution of higher Islamic education in this region, it has always pursued. It is well-known that, in order to serve their purpose, management systems must cover all aspects of a program that are important for its quality. This, in turn, implies that institutions must have internal processes for evaluating: study programs (content and structure), curriculum (use of resources, teachers' competence, implementation of curricula), and the necessary infrastructure (library, IT equipment, etc). In light of the above-mentioned one can say that for the past two academic years the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Sarajevo has been implementing the practice of students’ evaluation of teaching and practical exercises carried out by teachers in undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and starting from this academic year, of the Faculty management and the holders of chairs, too. In order to attain as high a quality of studies as possible, the Faculty is seeking to acquire all the necessary literature for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. It also aims to make available modern technical gadgets which allow for a better quality of the teaching process. The Faculty of Islamic Studies has an ambition to play an important role in studying and presenting Islam in contemporary context while preserving fundamental academic values. In fulfilling that mission, quality assurance and establishing a quality evaluation system will be of key importance.
