Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to describe the authority of the President of the Republic of Poland to appoint judges. The analysis focuses on this competence in the light of positive law and Theory of Constitutional Law, but also on political and constitutional practice. The conclusion of this article clarifies if the President of the Republic can refuse to appoint candidates for judges.
