The evaluation of the use of eu grants for improving and updating qualifications of employees in the Pomeranian Voivodeship

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyse possibilities to obtain and use the grants from the sub-measure 8.1.1 of Human Capital Operational Programme to improve the quality of human capital in Pomeranian region and to determine the effectiveness of financed projects. There are two groups of beneficiaries included in the analysis: applicants and final beneficiaries (firms and their employees). In the analysis we use the data from the Marshall Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The results of the analysis confirmed high quality of granted training and the need of co-financing, suggesting the necessity of better adjustment of its scope to the needs of final beneficiaries. The region benefits from the sub-measure 8.1.1 in two ways. Firstly, the grants contribute to the improvement of human capital quality, secondly, they financially support local training entities.
