Money circulation in the Soviet occupation zone of Germany. 1945-1948.

Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the development of the monetary system in the Soviet occupation zone of Germany after World War II. On the basis of new documents, the authors analyze the process of issuance of military money that played a role in the stabilization of the economy of Germany. The authors conclude that the issuance of occupation money was limited and was one of the forms of reparation to the vanquished enemy.
