ALENA VOSTRÁ’S VISION OF THE WORLD

Summary/Abstract: The paper is focused on a personality of the Czech novelist Alena Vostrá (1938–1992), especially on her books published in 1960s. At that time the features of Vostrá´s style were similar to the French nouveau roman but the aim of this article is to show that the similarity is a matter of chance rather than purpose. The second part of the paper deals with the children´s characters which very frequently appear in author´s novels and short stories. Vostrá expressed her own feelings and points of view through these characters because as well as children she prefered imagination and innovation to conservatism and strict rationality.
