Summary/Abstract: The article presents chosen results of research conducted among foreign students at higher educa- tion institutions of Opole Voivodeship. The research concerned foreigners who started studies at B.A. or M.A. level. The participants were students of The Academy of Management and Administration in Opole, Opole University, Opole University of Technology, School of Higher Vocational Education in Nysa, and Bogdan Jański School of Higher Education in Opole. Undertaking the topic was perceived as important because of growing interest for recruiting foreign students, mainly apart from the EU, visible among high er educational institutions of Opole The purpose was to determine some factors that attract foreigners so much that they start studies in Poland and Opole Voicodeship, defining some barriers connected with taking up studying, and specifying the perspective concerning staying in Po- land and Opole Voivodeship after graduation
