Summary/Abstract: Opole voivodeship is a region labelled as migratory, a region that has been marked by the long-standing tradition of travel (usually abroad), which brings social, demographic and economic consequences. One of the outcomes is the deepening depopulation of the region, with the already tangible consequences in the form of the structural deficiencies on the employment market. The insufficient offer of workforce is more and more often compensated for by the employment of foreigners, predominantly from Ukraine. The article presents selected results of the research performed among entrepreneurs in Opole late in 2014 and early in 2015, which focused on the demand for the foreign workforce. One of its aims was getting to know the opinion of employers with respect to the factors attracting foreign workforce to the region. The research was supposed to demonstrate whether there is a connection between the economic emigration of the inhabitants of Opole voivodeship which has been continuing for years and the assessment of the region’s attractiveness for economic immigrants.
