Summary/Abstract: Barbara Noculak uses photographic camera as the most important, but not the only artistic tool. She concentrates on building installations which include photographs. She often shows her work in museums and galleries, which are interested in contemporary art. She also draws, produces collages and artistic objects. To her installations, she adds texts written by herself. She studied photography at the Hohschule der Kuenste in Berlin under Heinz Hajek-Halke. She often works a few years on one artistic project. In 1991, she started working on the project entitled ‘Bella Betula’, and she finished is still considers it as ‘work-in-progress’. In 1993, she produced an installation entitled ‘Inside-Outside- Transparent’. From 1990 to 2000, she worked on ‘Homage to Goya’. In her work, she often refers to different myths and archetypes.
