Summary/Abstract: The author claims that social pedagogy after hundred years of its development has reached the status of a mature academic discipline. He traces it through the variety of text-books for students, articles, monographs, and dictionaries. The article is a result of the lectures delivered by the author on social pedagogy, which in their practical dimension seemed to approve what was their theoretical contents. The considerations, regarding their guideline and surveyal character, are especially addressed to students and people who are interested in social pedagogy.
