Changes in institutional care for a child up to three years in Poland

Summary/Abstract: Conducted in 2011 the reform of childcare up to three years is the starting point of analysis of changes in the institutional care of young children in Poland. This article aims to identify the specificity of the care system in Poland compared to those used in other European Union countries and analyze the previously functioning system, having its roots in the era of people democracy and the scope of the reforms introduced in 2011. The purpose is to indicate whether the reform of the system in fact significantly alter the care of little children and is conducive to increasing the scope of family support towards the implementation of the guidelines of the European Union.
