Social services in market economy

Summary/Abstract: In modern economy, characterised by the dynamic development of the civilisation, services become particularly important. Specifically social services, i.e. educational, cultural, health care, welfare and recreational service, deserve special attention. Even though there is no consistent model applied in the social service sphere of market economy countries, some characteristics may be delineated. The most important of them are: continuous increase in costs, what requires making choices which services are to be provided when and to what extent, multiplicity of forms of organisation and financing, renunciation of the term of definite model.
