Summary/Abstract: An important aspect of business to client communication, with the ultimate goal of a business to drive sales or retain them as returning clients, is to set the potential clients’ mood appropriately for closing the deal. This paper focuses on real examples taken form the Internet. Typical banners and text-ads are analyzed in order to demonstrate their role as metadiscursive element for the main online text. (metadiscourse and discourse is extended to metameaning and meaning).
