Typology of Texts in the Context of Demonstration Issues

Summary/Abstract: The paper attempts to establish the position of useful and specialist texts in the general classification system of texts. Technical literature notes a distinct typological chaos, resulting above all from the fact that there are no clear classification criteria. The study uses first of all the criterion of genre, also non-linguistic criterion – the communication function of a given text. Making the position of the categories of texts is supposed to help translators in a selection of strategies adjusted to the type of text, and at the same time appropriate linguistic means which will enable them to preserve equivalence respective to a given text.
