Summary/Abstract: Changes that take place in rural areas cause conflicts between agriculture, housing, services and industry. The aim of the paper is to analyze the processes of changes and its ground in rural suburban areas. The research has been done in two communes that has both rural and urban character: Niepołomice and Wieliczka. Both are neighborhoods of Cracow and belong to the Cracow Metropolitan area.
