Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the importance of conversation for beginners in Italian as L2. We have structured our paper in two parts. In the first part, we have delineated the theoretical frame of the conversation issue for beginners (level A1-A2) in L2. Our intention is to highlight the relationship established among social dimension/ communication/ conversation and, therefore, to highlight the teaching methods and strategies used for the improvement of communication skills. The second part is dedicated to practical aspects about conversation and offers some of the possible approaches employed for this level of proficiency.
