Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to provide directions of flexible working for health professionals and to characterize main factors of this process in Poland. The analysis of research results presented in the literature, own observations and interviews with hospital staff were used. The study indicates that the main way of more flexible employment of medical personnel in Poland is labour contract. The scope of use of these contracts depends on the profession and the type of medical service. The factors that determine the use of contracts relate mainly to the pressure to reduce costs and allow employees to work for a few companies.
