"Women's Experience". The Chronicle of the Ended illusion

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the main moves in the feminist theory since the 60s till nowadays. The category of women's experience is outlined as a central one to delineate the main shifts in feminism as a political movement and standpoint theory. Concepts like "female culture", "women's way of knowing", epistemic vantage point of a marginal knower, etc. are analyzed. The principal points in a critique of feminist essentialism are sketched. The views of J. Scott, G. Spivak, D. Haraway, D. Fuss, who are considered to be among the most influential authors in feminist deconstructionism, are presented. In the final part possibilities for a feminist discourse in East-European perspective are discussed.
