Motivating project team members in theory and practice

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of the empirical study on motivating members of project teams. The survey was carried out in 2009-2010 in 73 Polish, and 68 foreign companies. The findings showed that both tangible and intangible incentives are being used to motivate project team members. What seems to be characteristic for Polish companies is that they mostly use material (financial) motivators, while the non-material motivators are used far less frequently than in foreign companies.
