Summary/Abstract: Although the trend of a father going on child-care leave is not widespread, it is becoming more common that fathers stay at home with their children instead of the mother, mostly for financial reasons. This practice is the most popular in Scandinavia (Sweden and Norway in particular), but more and more Hungarian couples are deciding to try this form of child-rearing as well. In the past year, we were examining this unusual phenomenon, and we were trying to learn about the Hungarian trend using qualitative, as well as quantitative, examinations. This essay is a collection of the opinion of Hungarian employees: what they think about this family situation, how they see these couples and whether they could accept the same situation in their life. As our research was complex and versatile, we are only able to publish some of the partial results in this paper.
