Summary/Abstract: Under the pressure of globalization of business environment, companies seek to find optimum solutions to help them adapt their strategic and operational behavior to the specific market, taking into account their competitive potential. This paper presents the structural characteristics of competition and the competitive game, with emphasis on actions of maintaining the companies on top of the competitive game. Other issues that our paper review and analyze are the role of the marketing strategy in the competitive game and the customers’ management as strategic assets.
