Summary/Abstract: The beginning of the 21st century is marked by profound changes in the security environment in which globalization is exerting as irreversible. Diplomacy in general and the defense diplomacy, in particular, are indispensable tools of defense against threats to national security, an important part of the mechanism of planning and implementation of security policy. Romania's membership of NATO and EU determines the orientation of the foreign policy towards using of the new status to benefit the country and regional security. Foreign policy provides consistency and interaction between national security objectives and forms of manifestation of Romania on the international and union plan.
