Summary/Abstract: The Firm performance depends on its ability to create value for both customers and the owners (shareholders), for the employees, for the environment. An economic entity can create value which can be internal, therefor an economic added value, positive net pay after all factors of production including the cost of equity and a foreign amount given by the fact that the economic entity may have a higher market value then the carrying value of its assets. Thus performance is both a state of competitiveness of the company which ensures sustainable market presence and an indicator of potential future results determined by meeting strategic objectives. High competitiveness requires continuous innovation. Thus effective economic development requires a continuous process of modernization.
