Management of foreign reserves in China – problems and challenges

Summary/Abstract: Huge foreign reserves accumulation in China is managed by two institutions: SAFE and CIC, the latter being the Sovereign Wealth Fund. The investment strategies of these two institutions, as well as currency and asset composition of foreign reserves portfolio, and the potential impact on international financial environment, are the main issues of the article.
