Intangibles based on knowledge as a factor of the innovation growth of the European Union

Summary/Abstract: Intangibles, similarly to goods and services, are the results of economic activity. The author identifies them with the intellectual property. The European Union undertakes many actions aiming at boosting the competitiveness of the whole grouping. The Strategy Europe 2020 gives the priority to developing economy based on knowledge and innovation. Results so far have put the EU at a relatively low position in comparison to its major global competitors.
